Enjoy a day of relaxing cookery in the English countryside with television chef Lotte Duncan…

The Cookery School

Lotte’s demonstration days are held in her beautiful country cottage in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, complete with a delightful purpose-designed kitchen – created to make you feel comfortable and at home immediately. And if the English weather is in a good mood, you can sit, eat and wander in Lotte’s garden too.

Her English Country Cookery Days are run throughout the year. The emphasis is on good English country food, cooked in her relaxed and cosy kitchen, complete with Aga! She has many regular guests from far and wide who have been coming to her demonstrations for over ten years.

Lotte also does specialised one-to-one days for people who have just obtained an Aga and are not yet relaxed in its company. Lotte is fully Aga trained and even has a badge to prove it!

The day…

Coffee and cake is served on arrival, and then Lotte demonstrates the tricks of the trade to create your lunch. Then you eat it all – with some spectacular wine!

Local produce is used wherever possible and all her recipes are seasonal, using fruit and vegetables grown within the rhythm of the seasons.

Lotte’s cottage is within minutes of the historic market town of Thame in Oxfordshire, and fifteen miles from the City of Oxford. Many of Lotte’s visitors make their demonstration day part of a short break – and spend time enjoying the sights, and the local accommodation and hostelries of this idyllic location.

Lotte Duncan’s demonstrations and one-to-one cooking days make very popular presents. Once all booked up, she will send you a voucher and all the details that you can present on the day. Ideal for a birthday present or for any special occasion.

About Lotte…

Lotte Duncan is a popular and regular face on British television. She appears on BBC1's Countryfile Summer Diaries, and has cooked on numerous television shows over the last ten years, including BBC2's Castle in the Country, ITV's Heart of the Country and UKTV's Great Food Live. In 2005 she starred in ITV1's Dial a Mum.

She writes and develops all her own recipes, and her wide knowledge is often called upon for cookery programmes, magazines, cookware companies, and local and national radio.

In short, Lotte is the quintessential English cook.

When she’s not knee-deep in flour or hearty homemade soup, she spends her time in her lovely working garden, complete with pottager, herbaceous borders and the finest array of roses. She has a much loved daughter, and some occasionally loved cats!
